poet. essayist. professor. photographer.
Welcome! I am, above all, a lover of language: a poet, scholar, teacher, editor, translator, and freelancer. I am currently an Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.
I received my Ph.D. in English Literature from Harvard University (2017) and my M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program (2020), where I held a Zell Postgraduate Writing Fellowship and served as an Assistant Editor at Michigan Quarterly Review.
My poetry, essays, reviews, and translations have appeared in venues including Boston Review, The New Yorker, The Kenyon Review, Conjunctions, The Adroit Journal, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and Modernism/modernity.
My debut collection of poems, Saint Consequence, is forthcoming from Alice James Books in August, 2025. For more publications, please see the “Words” page of this site.
As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ and disability communities, I strive to lift up marginalized perspectives in all of my writing and teaching, and to forge connections with people and institutions working towards a more just world.
